Arcana Kings are a western Canadian based rock band that was formed in 2015. Founding leader Johnny McCuaig on lead vocals, bagpipes and rhythm guitar, grew up in Nelson B.C. with long time friend and school mate James Picton lead guitarist. Johnny toured with "McCuaig" for many years and was looking to re define his sound and James was the natural choice .  To complete this new and exciting sound Johnny put out some feelers to his then booking agent and was introduced to rhythm guitarist and vocalist Allan Morrison from Davidson Saskatchewan. Allan reached out to drummer Graham Templeman out of Colonsay Saskatchewan and finally bassist Jason Arcand from Saskatoon Saskatchewan to complete this power house called Arcana Kings.

 

The band  has been going strong ever since releasing "Lions As Ravens" in 2019 which was well-received by fans and critics alike as well as putting a new spin on some of McCuaigs previous tunes. AK tapped into their rock roots to capture a bit of AC/DC, Foo Fighters and Van Halen all while incorporating a touch of bagpipes. Arcana Kings continue to release new music like "Soldier On"  written by AK and members of the Soldier on program as well as  "Kinistino" , and "I Wanna Wake Up in Vegas" The band continues to tour extensively throughout Canada, The U.S. and Europe.

​Forming in 2015, Arcana Kings are made up of Johnny McCuaig on lead vocals bagpipes and rhythm guitar, James Picton lead guitar and vocals, Allan Morrison rhythm guitar and vocals, Graham Templeman drums and vocals, and bassist Jason Arcand. Their live  shows transform the smallest stages into concerts and engage the audience like no other band. The bagpipes create a unique sound that captivates and empowers listeners while holding their attention. Deeply rooted original music that’s been missing for decades, AK is making history with songs like Soldier On, Here We Go and Unbreakable. Worthy of any stage or venue we remain humble and respectful as the goal is to share our music with all who will listen.
